ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Fuel to Go & Play Association Championships are held annually as part of the Netball WA Competition Framework and Pathway to provide representative participation for Associations’ players, coaches, officials, managers and administrators. They provide the opportunity for player, coach and umpire talent identification, coach mentoring, umpire coaching and testing, and an opportunity for Associations to measure their pathway progressions against other Associations.

SNA select our Junior and Open teams from our STRIPE program and STRIPE squads. We also enter a team in the Masters division. See our STRIPE selected players policy. Fixtures and results will be available on PlayHQ during the event.

State Competitions

STATE CUP

The Netball WA (NWA) State Cup Competition forms part of the NWA competition Framework & Pathway and is held annually.

It provides the opportunity for identified players, coaches and umpires in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Academy Program, Fever In Time (FIT) Programs and Regional Academy of Sports (RASP) to compete against each other. The State Cup sits within the NWA Competition Pathway and is one of the selection points for athletes, umpires and coaches into next level of programs and pathways.

The Competition age divisions for the NWA State Cup are 14U, 16U and 20U. The teams participating in the 14U and 16U age groups will come from Metro, Aboriginal and Regional Academy teams. This is called Fever in Time. The 20U age group will provide opportunities for athletes not currently involved in the GIG WANL Competitions to display their talents and potentially increase their chances of being recruited by a GIG WANL Club.  State Cup 20U's Team is selected by SNA and not part of the FIT Program.

Fever In Time

In 2023, Netball WA, in conjunction with West Coast Fever Netball Club, is proud to launch the statewide Fever In Time (FIT) Program. The program supports identified players, coaches and officials.

In 2023 the Fever in Time Program will be delivered across the state. More information to come soon.

The program will run from August to October with the teams competing in the Netball WA State Cup. The State Cup is the premier Statewide competition and is a viewing platform for Gold Industry Group WANL clubs and West Coast Fever Futures Program.

The purpose of the program is to:

• Identify players between 14U-16U

• Expose players, coaches and officials to an elite training environment

• Expand players, coaches and officials’ skills and technical knowledge
