State Cup

STATE CUP

The State Cup forms part of the Netball WA (NWA) competition Framework & Pathway and will be held annually.

The purpose of the NWA State Cup Competition is to provide the opportunity for the Players, Coaches and Umpires in the Metro and Aboriginal Academy Teams, Metro Association Teams (20U Division only) and Regional Academy Teams to compete against each other.

The Competition age divisions for the NWA State Cup are 14U, 16U and 20U.

The teams participating in the 14U and 16U age groups will come from Metro, Aboriginal and Regional Academy teams.  This is called Fever in Time.

The 20U age group will provide opportunities for athletes not currently involved in the GIG WANL Competitions to display their talents and potentially increase their chances of being recruited by a GIG WANL Club.   State Cup 20U's Team is selected by SNA and not part of the FIT Program.

FEVER IN TIME

In 2022, Netball WA, in conjunction with West Coast Fever Netball Club, is proud to launch the Fever In Time (FIT) Program. The program aligns with the Regional Academy Program which is Statewide, supporting identified players, coaches and officials.
The program will be delivered in four metropolitan Squads:
• North (Wanneroo, Noranda, Joondalup & Swan Districts)
• Central (Southern Districts, Eastern Hills, Kalamunda & Perth)
• South (Fremantle, Rockingham, Success & Belmont)
• Metro Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Academy (Metro & Regional)

The program will run from August to October each year with the teams competing in the Netball WA State Cup.  The State Cup is the premier Statewide competition and is a viewing platform for Gold Industry Group WANL clubs and West Coast Fever Futures Program.
